Developed in parallel with the Chip Ganassi Racing/Multimatic racing cars, the new Ford GT is essentially a thinly disguised FIA LM GTE-class endurance racer with a license plate. Manufacture of road models is handled by Multimatic at a purpose-built, low-volume facility in Markham, Ontario, where the first Ford GT road car was completed in December 2016 with top Ford brass present.
