This 1962 Chevrolet Corvette convertible is a custom build completed in 2017 by Jeff Hayes at American Speed Shop, and was acquired directly from Jeff Hayes by the seller in 2017. The build utilized a 1962 Corvette body with an adapted 1958 Corvette front grille, atop a special Art Morrison sport chassis. The drivetrain consists of a GM 540hp LS3 Hot Cam crate engine with custom intake, backed by a GM 4L70E 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and a Ford 9-inch rear end with Strange axles and 3.70 gears. Stopping power is provided by Wilwood 4-wheel power disc brakes (6-piston front and 4-piston rear), which are mounted on 240/75R-18 and 275/40R-20 low-profile red line tires. The car features a custom mix of platinum flake and Pearl-Gray paint. Other equipment includes removable body-color hardtop, Vintage Air, Dakota Digital gauges, Jensen touchscreen interface, LED interior lighting, Eiko high-definition headlights, custom seats with distressed red leather upholstery, power steering, power windows, and power operated hood and cowl vent. The car has been mechanically sorted by the crew at DriverSource in Houston. The engine and transmission was tuned by MS Tuning in Texas.
