Long Description: This 1959 Chevrolet Corvette is powered by a 283/230 V8 engine paired with a 4-speed manual transmission with 20,489 actual miles. It was purchased in Long Island, NY, at the local Chevrolet dealership by the owner's father. After a year, the vehicle was gifted to his son who remained the owner until August 2021. After the sale, it underwent an extensive preservation process during which time the vehicle was detailed by a local museum curator. Great steps were taken to preserve the paint through the same process it was given in the assembly line. During the preservation process, the mechanical work consisted of new factory-correct spark plugs, plug wires, cap and rotor, fully restored carburetor, GM rubber hoses, exhaust, generator belt and battery cables. All fluids also were changed. The front fenders and hood were repainted due to damage during the shipping process to the dealership in 1959. The remainder of the vehicle has never been repainted. There is damage to the passenger fender from a trailer backing into the vehicle in 1968, and the original owner never repaired it. The original owner also kept notes on index cards indicating dates and mileage for oil changes and repairs and kept records of fuel purchases to figure out the gas mileage of the vehicle. The process of the preservation was documented through photographs to document that the vehicle is a period-correct matching-numbers Corvette. The original carburetor is included as well as the original Delco battery.
