This 1970 GMC 2500 custom pickup received a two-year professional frame-off restoration that earned it a Goodguys Award of Excellence. Power comes from a 454ci V8 engine equipped with FiTech electronic fuel injection and an Edelbrock 540hp top-end kit including RPM Air-Gap intake manifold, RPM cylinder heads, pushrods, Rollin' Thunder Hydraulic Roller camshaft and timing chain. The engine is mated to a 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission with a 2500 Stall converter. Both the engine and transmission have been rebuilt. The engine breathes through a set of headers feeding a 2.5-inch exhaust system with MagnaFlow mufflers. Drop spindles with coil springs up front and flipped axle leaf springs in the back give it an aggressive stance. Stopping is handled by a power-assisted Wilwood master cylinder with Wilwood calipers, 6-piston fronts and 4-piston rears, clamping on drilled and slotted rotors. The braking system has an auxiliary vacuum pump and canister for reliable braking. Other upgrades include Vintage Air, power steering and an aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. This Chevrolet-badged pickup rides on 20-inch US Mags wheels wrapped in Nitto tires. The TMI bench seat interior is finished in black upholstery with red stitching, matching door panels, dashboard, tilt steering column and JL Audio system with an amplifier with four speakers and a subwoofer behind the seat. The exterior features new trim, glass and bumpers. Build receipts are included.
