Long Description: This 1964 Austin-Healey 3000 Mark III BJ8 received a no-expense-spared professional body-off restoration by Classic Imports of Maine features and includes a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certification. The correct restoration was recognized by the judges at the Celebration Exotic Car Show with a Concours Gold Award. Power comes from its matching-numbers 2912cc inline 6-cylinder engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission with electronic overdrive in third and fourth gears. The switch-activated overdrive has been upgraded to top racing specifications with improved response time by Tsikuris Classics in Lakeland, FL. As part of the comprehensive restoration, the engine and its ancillaries, as well as the transmission, were rebuilt by Frank Monise Motors. The suspension and brakes have also been rebuilt along with an all-new wiring harness. Finished in its original colors of British Racing Green with a black Everflex convertible top with matching boot and tonneau cover over a black leather interior and mostly new chrome work. The interior is correct with leather seats front and back, side panels, armrests and carpet. It rides on 72-spoke chromed wire wheels and includes an adjustable steering column, radio, heater, two wing-mounted sideview mirrors and a laminated windscreen. There's also an Armacord chrome trunk luggage rack complete with a picnic basket.
