Long Description: This custom 1965 Ford Mustang known as "Mustang Magic" was originally built by Eddie Paul in the late '70s. However, in 2007 it once again made its way back to Eddie for a much-needed multi-year refresh. Painted bright red and equipped with a custom interior, this custom consists of all metal fabrication except for the Shelby style fiberglass hood. During the build, Eddie widened the body by 12 inches, fabricated the front flares using original Mustang fenders and widening with an air chisel. Also, he blended the front flares into a Trans Am-style front air dam hand forming it from 22-gauge sheet metal. He then widened the rear by welding new Mustang quarters on top of the old ones then shaped with a hammer and dolly. In total, the car has a total of 11 Can Am style scoop openings. Power to motivate this custom comes from a 289ci V8 engine backed by an automatic transmission. Built at the Edelbrock factory in California, the engine comes equipped with a Carter Super Quad 625cfm carburetor and a Crane Blazer 228-2H camshaft attempting to achieve 275-300hp but ended up with 276hp at 6,000 RPM with 242 ft/lbs of torque. The stock 2.80:1 gears were replaced with Perfection American Zoom 4.11 gears for the drag-strip. The interior features Deist safety belts, a Vilem B. Haan 14-inch leather-covered steering wheel, AutoMeter gauges and reclining RECARO LS seats with re-created hand-woven jet-style fabric. Long after this 1965 Fastback's HOT ROD Magazine debut in 1978, a more recent 4-page article by Rob Kinnan was published in the September 2017 issue of Mustang Monthly Magazine. The original build was consolidated into a 28-page article in the #1 edition of Mustang Magazine in 1980. The car also graced the cover of Petersen Publishing's Shop Series book titled "Engine Swapping". Mustang Magic has been published in at least a dozen magazines and all will be included with the purchase of the vehicle. An appraisal from Eddie will also be provided verifying the car's authenticity along with hundreds of pictures he took while restoring the car. As a bonus, Eddie also signed the car between the gas filler and right taillight before applying clear coat during his final restoration.
