Long Description: DESCRIPTION HAS BEEN UPDATEDPre-production 2013 Ford Shelby GT500. Power comes from the massive 5.8-liter supercharged V8 rated at 662 horsepower backed by a 6-speed manual transmission. The 2013 Ford Shelby GT500 was the 20th Anniversary of the SVT Group, and to mark the anniversary the expectation for the car was that it would be the fastest and most powerful production vehicle for 2013. With the GT500 being advertised to be able to reach the speed of 200 mph, the people at chassis design had to reach that mark. The final changes to the car to get it to the 200 mph mark were to remove the grille to reduce drag, and replace the two-piece aluminum drive shaft with a one-piece carbon fiber unit. Once the specifications for the production cars had been developed, there was no longer any need for the pre-production vehicle. This pre-production 2013 Shelby is a unique offering as it was built in February of 2012 several months prior to the actual production of the 2013 model year cars and was owned by Ford until being sold at auction in 2014 with just 3,700 miles and currently has 17,077 actual miles.
