Long Description: This 1970 Buick GS 455 Stage 1 is one of two prototype show cars manufactured in late 1970. The drivetrain consists of an M4 Turbo 400 automatic transmission with 3.64 posi-traction rear end. Finished in Fireglow Pearl, a color only used once on this Buick GS. The interior is solid white with black carpeting and crystal-clear glass. Options include power disc brakes, steering, power windows and locks. Also includes a tilt column and original Sonomatic radio. Goodyear Polyglas G60-15 GT tires ride on Buick 15x7-inch Rallye wheels. The car is a Certified Gold Winner at the 2010 Buick Performance Club Nationals and the feature car in "Hemmings Motor News" in August 2005. In early 1970, Buick Motor Division pulled two identical white GS Stage 1 hardtops off the assembly line for special conversions to tour the auto shows across the country. These cars were optioned identically and even their body numbers are only 2 digits apart. One was converted into the well-known GSX prototype and this is the other. They toured the show circuit together and were to be destroyed. A dealer intervened with the understanding that they were never to be sold. While out of town, they were both sold and they survive today. The car retains 100% of its original sheet metal, clear glass, white interior and Fireglow Pearl paint. 13,501 miles (mileage not listed on the title).
