Long Description:
This 1970 Plymouth GTX is powered by its matching-numbers 440ci V8 engine that is date-code-correct and professionally rebuilt, precision-balanced and stroked to 505ci at the cost of $12,000 by 440 Source of Carson City, NV. Finishing touches include aluminum Mopar Performance rocker covers, a dual-snorkel air cleaner and full-length dual-exhaust system, with power delivered by a TorqueFlite automatic transmission to a 3.91 Sure-Grip 8.75-inch rear end. Built to order on October 20, 1969, this GTX benefits from interior and mechanical restoration at Sahara Dodge of Las Vegas, NV. Highlights include a black vinyl roof, black and silver grille, tastefully limited brightwork, a left-hand chrome mirror, iconic "GTX" callouts and a bulged hood with competition-style pins. The underbody, floors, and suspension are finished in matte black. The black vinyl interior features premium bucket seats, plus a wood-grain-accented console, floor shifter, 3-speed variable wipers, power steering, a 150-mph speedometer, Rallye gauges, a Tic-Toc-Tach and factory air conditioning updated to R134a. A 3-spoke steering wheel and black vinyl door panels with wood-grain inserts complete the interior, along with black carpeting and GTX-branded floor mats. Recent updates to the GTX include a new alternator and battery in November 2021 and a new headliner fitted in January 2022. Documents include VIN and Fender Tag decoding, maintenance receipts and detailed documents from the engine builder. Riding on a set of factory Rallye wheels mounting BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires, this GTX carries an aggressive look with the substance to back it up, in the finest Plymouth "Rapid Transit System" tradition.
