DESCRIPTION HAS BEEN UPDATED
This authentic 1972 Dodge Charger 440 Magnum is a great example of a seldom-seen Mopar muscle car. It was meticulously restored with an open checkbook over the course of several years. It was truly a labor of love by Mr. Dennis Yauger, who is no longer with us today. This was his pride and joy. It's one of only 785 "U-code" models built in 1972, which included the 440 4-barrel Magnum High-Performance V8 engine. As the VIN number indicates, it was built in Lynch Road, MI. As the original Fender Tag indicates, it had a production date of October 29, 1971, and was ordered with the following options: gold exterior, full black vinyl roof, black bucket seats with console interior, air conditioning, 440 4-barrel V8 engine, 26-inch radiator and automatic transmission. During the refurbishment process most of the exterior sheet metal was replaced new, including a Charger Rallye hood. The body was professionally worked to ensure it was straight with excellent gap lines. The hood, doors and trunk lid close nicely. The car was refinished in gold with black accents on the hood, side panels and rear end. The color looks amazing on this body style. The deep paint was recently detailed to a show-quality finish. It was outfitted with a new full black vinyl roof, which adds character. All of the glass is in very condition throughout. Everything on the exterior was restored or replaced, such as the glass stainless trim, wipers, dual mirrors, front grille, headlights, front spoiler, door handles, rear spoiler and taillights. The original front and rear bumpers were sent to be rechromed. The car rolls on correct 14-inch wheels with NOS chrome trim rings and Goodyear Wide Tread F70-14 tires. An extra set of five correct 14-inch wheels with BFGoodrich radial TA 225-70-14 tires are included. The black interior was completely refinished to its glory days. Some of the restored or replaced trim pieces include the headliner, sun visors, rearview mirror, steering wheel, door sills, door panels, window rollers and pedals. The original dash was sent out to be professionally restored. The bucket seats were refoamed and reupholstered. It's equipped with seat belts for all passengers. Some of the interior features include the simulated wood-grained instrument panel and console, Rallye gauges, radio and modern Classic Auto Air conditioning. The new black carpeting was dressed with custom floor mats. The painted trunk compartment was beautifully refinished, including the factory-correct stickers on the backside of the decklid. It's equipped with a factory-correct-style trunk mat, matching full-size spare and jack tools. The painted engine compartment is highly detailed throughout with many correct parts. Everything in the engine bay was restored or replaced. It's powered by a period correct 440 4-barrel Magnum V8 engine. The engine was completely rebuilt with high-quality internal parts for better performance and reliability. It's fed through an Edelbrock Performer intake and 600 cfm carburetor. It was dressed with orange valve covers and a dual-snorkel air cleaner. The engine is cooled by a correct-style 26-inch radiator. The engine breathes through correct-style manifolds and a custom 3-inch exhaust with Dynomax mufflers, which sounds awesome. The engine is coupled to a rebuilt automatic transmission that shifts smoothly. The painted undercarriage is also highly detailed throughout with many correct parts. The power steering system, suspension components and braking system were all gone through. An owner's manual and car cover are included. This car was recently serviced and detailed, which is documented with an invoice that's included. From the MS CLASSIC CARS Collection.
