This 1978 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ45L quad-cab has a 120-inch wheelbase and was custom-built by Larry Griffey's Hot Rods and Restorations in Knoxville, TN. It is powered by a new crate GM Ram Jet 350ci fuel-injected high-torque marine engine paired with a custom-built performance 4L65E 4-speed automatic transmission. The transmission has an Atlas billet aluminum transfer case and an HPC-coated 2.5-inch exhaust system. It is also equipped with a Ron Davis custom-built aluminum radiator, electric fans and shroud. This custom build began with an all-aluminum body and fenders from Aqualu Industries and the chassis has 2x4.25-inch wall mandrel-bent frame rails and Grade 8 chassis fasteners. This custom Land Cruiser features built long arms with ballistic fabrication joints and a fabricated hydraulic Ram cantilever system that raises the entire suspension 4 inches for off-road use. It is equipped with a performance power steering box. This vehicle rides on Fox off-road racing shocks with remote reservoirs and coilover springs with retention straps to stop over-articulation of the chassis. It is equipped with air lockers, as well as Dynatrac front and rear axles with Ford F-250 power disc brakes. The right frame rail is a full-length air storage tank with an onboard air compressor and quick disconnects for air tools. The frame and chassis parts, as well as the custom-built bumpers and spare tire support, are powder-coated. The front bumper features a WARN winch and has custom-built aluminum running boards with steps below a 2.5-inch addition to the height of the doors for a better appearance. The windshield and frame were shortened to 1.5 inches for better balance, and it has an original steel FJ hood and grille, with all body fasteners brushed stainless steel. Interior features include Classic instruments aircraft gauges, a Vintage Air system, a tilt steering column and a Billet Specialties steering wheel. The sound system has six speakers and a subwoofer. The interior also features a custom-built padded and upholstered full roll cage, as well as seat belts and shoulder harnesses in the front and rear. It has a removable top and a removable window.
