Long Description: This 1969 Daytona Yellow Yenko Camaro is one of three Camaros personally sold by Don Yenko to racers for use in NHRA Drag Racing programs. Known as "the Preston and Lawrence race car," it was purchased on April 4, 1969, by Lester Lawrence of Montclair, NJ. Don Yenko personally signed off on the sale's contract. Stock number #9616 was purchased for $4,519. It was finished in Daytona Yellow with an automatic transmission and power steering with the added options of a Hurst Shift Gate shifter and a black vinyl roof. The 1969 Yenko Camaro was a limited-production vehicle equipped from the factory with COPO 9561, a special performance package that included an L72 427/425hp engine, special ducted hood, dual exhaust system, increased cooling capacity and special suspension. Yenko Camaros also received COPO 9737, a sports car conversion that included a 140-mph speedometer, a larger-diameter 13/16-inch front stabilizer bar and 15x7 Rally wheels wrapped in E70 raised-white-letter tires. This car has Don Yenko's name on the documentation, which includes the original dealer package file from Yenko Chevrolet signed off by Don Yenko himself, purchase order, Bill of Sale, car invoice, shipper sheet and two letters from Warren Dernoshek, who did the work for Yenko and rescued the paperwork from the trash.
