Long Description:
This custom Hogan Built 1972 Chevrolet K5 Blazer is powered by a Don Hardy supercharged 6.2-liter LS3 engine rated at over 900hp backed by a Hughes 4L80E HP transmission and an Atlas transfer case. The mechanical highlights include Hedman headers, a DeWitts aluminum radiator, stainless-steel lines and hoses, and a 4-inch polished stainless-steel air intake feeding cool air into the engine. The chassis was completely upgraded, including front Fox 2.5-inch coilovers, hydraulic bump stops and crossover steering. The frame also features custom-fabricated crossmembers and suspension hangers and is boxed for added strength. After fabrication the chassis was powder-coated and cleared in a high-gloss Speedway Gray. The underside is finished off with a fully polished 3-inch TIG-welded stainless-steel exhaust with MagnaFlow mufflers. In addition, both axles have undergone a complete overhaul, including 4.56 gears, 1350 yolks, upgraded axle shafts and high-strength internals. Stopping power is provided by 4-wheel Wilwood disc brakes backed by CPP hydro-boost. Staying true to its factory code, this Blazer is refinished in a PPG Deep Black over Satin Black two-tone. It sports double molding side trim, with a hand-laid Chevrolet pinstripe ghosted on the tailgate. The front clip on this Blazer sets it apart from the rest with its '68 hood slant and custom '68-72 grille. It rides on 17-inch Innov8 wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich 35-inch all-terrain tires. The fiberglass top has been completely redone, gel-coated, body worked and refinished to match the flawless body. Putting this Blazer in a class of its own, inside the hardtop has been completely wrapped in suede, showcasing a Starlight headliner. The body, chassis and engine are all tied together with an American Autowire harness. The black and gold interior features factory front bucket seats and a bench spanning the rear, as well as Classic Instruments gauges, new tilt steering column, a TIG-welded roll cage and a brand-new Vintage Air system. Fiber-optic star lighting has been installed in the door panels, rear side panels and headliner, and an AM/FM Bluetooth RetroSound head unit was installed in the dash that plays through two Alpine Type-X 6.5-inch and two 6x9-inch speakers, four tweeters and two 12-inch subwoofers. This triple-black high-option K5 had a true nut-and-bolt, body-off concours restoration.
