Long Description: This restored 1990 Rover Mini Mayfair is powered by a single-SU carbureted 998cc 4-cylinder engine. It is finished in white with a black roof and black decals over a black interior. The interior features bucket seats and a tachometer. This car rolls on alloy rims and weighs only 1,411 pounds. The cars handle like they are on rails. The 1990 version of the Mini is also known as the "MK V." The Mayfair was a special-edition Mini from the "London Collection." Based on the Mini City, these cars originally came equipped with Windsor velour interior, coachlines with Mayfair badging, 12-inch alloys, opening rear side windows, radio, head restraints, locking fuel cap, tachometer, front disc brakes and a brake servo. This car has been restored to a more "classic" Mini look. It currently shows 34,405 miles and now sports bucket seats. The interior is spacious for a car this size. One of the top priorities for the designers was to ensure that the car was usable and able to comfortably fit passengers and luggage. They moved the wheels out of the way so there was no intrusion from the wheel arches in the cabin. The Mini was made by the British Motor Corporation and its successors from 1959 until 2000. The original is considered a British icon of the 1960s, and its space-saving front-wheel-drive layout that allowed 80% of the car's floor pan to be used for passengers and luggage influenced a generation of car makers. In 1999 the Mini was voted the second most influential car of the 20th century, behind the Ford Model T. Initially Minis were marketed under the Austin and Morris names, as the Austin Seven and Morris Mini Minor, until Mini became a marquee in 1969. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s the British market received numerous "special editions" of the Mini, which shifted the car from a mass-market car into a fashionable icon.
