This 1953 Allstate custom coupe is one of 797 made for Sears by Kaiser-Frasier and has been customized and updated. Power is provided by a Ford 302ci V8 through a 3-speed C4 automatic transmission down to an 8-inch Ford rear end with 3.55 gears and posi-traction. The engine features a Proform HEI-type distributor, Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor and headers, with a dual exhaust exiting through Flowmaster Super 40 mufflers to help enhance power output. The engine stays cool with an aluminum radiator and electric fan. The frame is from a 1977 Toyota pickup with rack & pinion manual steering. The exterior features the original-type spotlight, original hood ornament that lights up when headlamps are on, and the front bumper has been removed and has an air dam in its place now. This coupe rolls on custom 17-inch wheels with radial tires. The interior features Toyota front bucket seats that have fold-down armrests, an electric driver's seat and a rear seat that folds down to give a flat-load floor to the trunk area, which has a small hideaway storage area. It sports a custom wheel and custom tilt steering column fronting a Woodward speedometer and gauges with a column-mounted tachometer, next to a Hurst Pro-Matic 2 shifter mounted on a custom wood console. Additional items that go with the car include an original under-dash Allstate air-conditioning unit and the original rechromed front bumper.
