Long Description: DESCRIPTION HAS BEEN UPDATEDThis custom 1955 Chevrolet 3100 fleetside big-back-window short-bed pickup has undergone a full frame-off rotisserie restoration was built by Why Not Motors. It's powered by an all-new crate Chevrolet LS3 V8 engine with a March billet serpentine belt drive system. Power is transferred through an automatic transmission with an aluminum driveshaft. The engine breathes out of dual 3-inch stainless exhaust with electric cutouts. The custom aluminum TIG-welded fuel tank was relocated under the rear of the bed. Stopping is provided by 4-wheel Wilwood power disc brakes on all four corners. An aluminum radiator with dual high-flow electric fans keeps the pickup running cool in all conditions. This truck sits on an aftermarket Scott's fully boxed chassis with a 4-link Ford 9-inch rear end with coilovers and posi-traction, while the front end is a tubular independent front suspension with coilover shocks and rack & pinion power steering. The body of the pickup was stripped down, prepped and all gaps were addressed and sized. Countless hours of custom metalwork were completed, including the firewall was smoothed, the front of the bed was modified to contour the cab, a custom radiator surround was fabricated, and custom one-off CNC engine covers were fabricated and painted to match the accent color. The body was painted in a House of Kolor Candy Red with five coats of high solids clearcoat, and then the deluxe stainless cab and bed trim were installed. The fleetside bed retains custom Mocha Satin-finished wood. It rides on 3-piece custom-built 20-inch billet U.S. Mags wheels and red line tires. The custom interior was completed by well-known Cato's Custom Upholstery and was modernized with powered one-piece door glass with Nu-Relics window motors. It is also equipped with a push-button start, a tilt steering column, a modern Kenwood infotainment system with speakers and Dakota Digital gauges. Keeping the cab comfortable is a modern Vintage Air system with air conditioning and heat.
