Long Description: DESCRIPTION HAS BEEN UPDATEDThis custom 1951 Mercury is owned by customizer and TV personality Jesse James, who initiated the vehicle's total transformation in 2004. It is powered by a 502ci big-block V8 engine, including full relief hand engraving by Master Gun engraver Tay Herrera, with spent gases removed by an 8-into-2-into-1 custom exhaust system fabricated by Jesse James himself. Power delivery is via a built GM Turbo 400 automatic transmission and a Currie 9-inch rear end housing 3.55 gears. This Mercury rides on a fully detailed "factory spring" steel frame upgraded with a Fat Man front clip, including power rack & pinion steering. This Mercury features a body with a chopped roof, 1949 Mercury back window, and fabrication performed by Mercury Charlie and Jesse James. All finish fabrication, bodywork and final assembly were finished at West Coast Choppers in Long Beach, CA, and Austin, TX. The German Blue paint exterior finish is complemented by Dark Blue Ice Pearl ghost scallops. Fat Lucky trimmed the retro-correct custom interior, which is crowned by a custom 14-inch steering wheel created by Pearlcraft in Australia. It also features chrome and trim by Speed & Sport Houston, and the one-off billet wheels with art-deco wheel covers were created by Mike Curtis. This custom Mercury has won multiple awards, including the John D'Agostino Award of Excellence for Best Overall Custom at the 2019 SEMA Show. In addition to being the subject of feature articles in multiple magazines and depicted in calendars celebrating custom cars, this homage to the customizer's arts has also been featured in several TV shows and documentaries. **TITLED AS 1951 MERCURY SPECON** **SOLD ON BONDED TITLE** **TITLE IN TRANSIT** Date: 01/25/2025 2:00 PM Video 1: Video 2: Video 3: Terms and conditions CONTRACTS There is no rescission, revocation, or canceling of bids.
